Dallas Stars Annoucement: http://stars.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=630641

With the new changes to hockey in the Dallas Fort Worth area we wanted to address your questions:

Why are the Aces in the DSTHL (Dallas Stars Travel Hockey League) and some association not included?

·     The Texas Aces were asked to join this new league based on our long history of hockey in DFW and our continued best-in-class focus on hockey development.

·     We are planning on playing against the other associations in our league and provide opportunities to grow and develop as quality hockey players.

·     Please, please read the article we have posted on the Aces web page LTPDM, it describes the ‘big’ hockey picture and may prove some interesting insight to the numbers and hockey options.

What does this mean to my son or daughter?

·     As part of this league, players will have a choice of playing T1 (AAA)

·     If you are interested in playing AA hockey there are 3 choices and 4 @ the Midget level.

·     If you are interested in playing A & B hockey you have a number of local choices including the Aces

·     If the player is not selected for any of these then they will be accommodated by the Dallas Stars house programs

When will tryouts be?

·     Tryout dates have been set by will take place as previously planned and found on the Aces website- home page.

What are my options if my son does not make an Aces team?

·     If a player does not make an Aces team then they have the opportunity to try out for one of the other association’s teams and pending that outcome potentially playing in the Dallas Stars house league program.

Hello Fellow Aces,

As the new Aces president, I wanted to let you know the board has been working very hard since the New Year to review the survey we conducted covering all the major Metroplex hockey associations.  We are using your feedback to develop a go forward Aces strategy that is driven by your comments and suggestions.

The key survey takeaways are:
1. You Want Strong Player Development
2. Quality Coaching

Today marks a significant transition for The Texas Aces as we introduce the Aces Long Term player Development Model (LTpDM).  It’s an important step that we hope you will see as an investment in The Texas Aces, one that will strengthen our ability to provide high-quality hockey development to the Aces players. The changes have already started and will be fully implemented by the start of next season.

Please stay tune for more exciting announcements in the coming weeks!

As always, we want to know how to get better at serving you, please feel free to let us know.

Regards
David Mills
Aces President

Welcome to the 2012 Aces Spring Camp.

You will leave our camp in June a more skilled and better player than when you arrived at camp on April 4th .

In keeping with our promise of the LTpDM we will be running a high intensity camp focused on the basic hockey skills building blocks.

How are we different from all the other camps…
1st - we don’t do this to make money and our only concern is making more skilled hockey players.
2nd - we will take the time to work on the proper skill technique to increase muscle memory and learning.

We will be testing the players at the start and the end of camp to provide benchmarks of improvement and continued focus.

To get the word out on the Aces’ commitment to offer serious hockey development, we are offering the following incentives…
  1. Best value in town: 18 sessions @ 1.25hrs each for $399.00. We believe when compared to other programs you will agree.
  2. Quality Aces instruction under the guidance of former NHLer Alan May.
  3. "Bring a friend incentive" for all current Aces players to introduce non Aces players and families to our new brand of hockey:
Rules: for each player a current Aces player registers for camp the Aces player will get a Camp registration discount per below, so bring lots of friends!
  1. 25% Camp discount for the 1st player registered
  2. 50% Camp discount for the 2nd player registered
  3. 75% Camp discount for 3 or more players registered

Each player will receive 2 sessions per week of instruction -Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. The groupings will be determined after sign up to ensure maximum development. Details on our optional off ice program are detailed below.

Sign-up early as space will be limited!
